ASG Announces the Recipient for the 2009 Community Service Project
The 2009 National Community Service Project will be creating pillow cases for the Ronald McDonald House, located in the conference host city of Albuquerque , New Mexico .
The standard size pillow cases should be made of 100% cotton in children’s prints and bright colors. Numerous free pillow case patterns can be found on the Internet- simply enter “pillow case pattern” in your search engine and take your pick! Information regarding where to send the pillow cases will be available in early 2009.
The Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families of ill or injured children receiving treatment at local hospitals. Ronald McDonald House Charities supports efforts to improve the health and well being of children.
The ASG community service project is coordinated in conjunction with bringing our annual conference to Albuquerque next summer (July 17-19, 2009). This service program provides an avenue for our members to “give back” utilizing our sewing skills and talents. Previous recipients include St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital , Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and the American Cancer Society.
