Thank you, Lois--Webmaster The Galveston Area Neighborhood Group or "GANG" is currently working on several Community Service Projects: Duffle bags and drawstring laundry bags for local children in Foster Care Heart shape comfort pillows and matching Tote bags for American Cancer Society's "Reach for Recovery" serving Post-mastectomy patients in Galveston and Brazoria County Premature baby funeral gowns and booties serving NICU patients at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston Texas Quilted Isolette Covers for NICU at UTMB, Galveston. Child size quilts for UTMB Children's Hospital, Galveston. Fleece teddy bears for local Police and Fire in Galveston County. For more information on how you can help with sewing or if you would like to donate supplies, please contact the Galveston area neighborhood group at (409)935 6864, or by email to purbani@yahoo.com. Supplies needed for these projects are: Zippers, heavy weight cottons or canvas for duffle bags; Lighter weight fabrics suitable for laundry bags; Pretty white satin or cotton for premature baby gowns; Cotton, flannel or batting for rag quilts; Any type of washable fabric or stuffing for cancer society comfort pillows and tote bags; Fleece in any color or pattern for teddy bears.
