Thanks for the information. After
reviewing each link they looked to have a lot of useful information
http://www.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl : A great site for reading
user reviews on that pattern you're thinking about. It also has reviews on
machines, notions, and books. Be warned you will get lost in this website, it
has a lot of information.
http://www.ianr.unl.edu/pubs/textiles/ : An encyclopedia of information
about fabric usage, application, and care; from the folks at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln
Sew Professional Sewing School: Jody Urbani,
Sewing Consultant,
Galveston, Texas. She is very active in the Galveston Neighborhood groups
and serves as Community Service CAB member.
Phyllis' Favorite
Sewing Links. Good Links. Thanks Phyllis.
http://annthegran.com : My absolute favorite for free embroidery designs to
download. Also has great links to other web sites, and instruction and other
info, and free software available. I particularly like the thread charts that
show you the numbers for different colors across thread brands.
http://www.nancysnotions.com : Nancy’s on-line catalog. I particularly
like the sewing library with free instructions for making all sorts of
projects. A new one is a walker caddy that I am going to make for my mother who
uses a walker to get around.
http://www.qheartland.com/ : Web site from the
Quilting from the Heartland show. You can actually watch their videos over the
net on how to make their designs. Check out the projects. This months project
is Patriotic Coasters.
http://dsewfine.com/: I like this site because it tells me where
to sew the design on a garment.
http://www.taunton.com/threads/index.asp: This is Threads magazine
on-line. Many articles from prior issues are on the net. There are also some
embroidery downloads, and videos to watch.
http://www.sewnews.com : Sew News has an online article library. Look
under Sewing Resources>Article Library>Fashion to find fashion sewing articles.
I also like the Tips and Techniques page with fitting tips, etc.
Lois' (Webmaster) Favorite
Websites. There are many more links I have used and just not bookmarked
them.
The Fabric Club : I
like this website to order fabric. They have a large inventory, but
shipping is a little slow. If you don't need the fabric in a hurry
you can get great prices.
Clotilde
: the website has everything from the catalog.
Atlanta
Thread. : A great place to find supplies for the sewing room. They
carry extra large cutting mats. You can find many other sewing supplies.
Rowena Irons :
Rowena's site has a wonderful comparison chart. If
you are not sure which model to purchase, the chart will list the features of
each model in an easy format to read.
